Independent domain brokerage for buyers, sellers, and brand teams.

A working room for domain buyers, sellers and holders

Domain Brokerage Group is a forum, not a pitch deck. Members post real names, real comps and the timelines behind them, from .co.za handovers to .com aftermarket threads. If you are weighing up a sale, bring the name and your ask to the appraisal board and let the room tell you straight.

Appraisals, escrow walkthroughs, drop-catching notes and the admin nobody enjoys: renewals, registrar transfers, WHOIS records.

Questions that come up before people post

Short answers to the things new members ask in their first week, before they open a thread or send a name to the appraisal board.

Do I need an account to read the boards?

No. Thread lists, post counts and the marketplace section are open to read. Posting, replying and sending a name for appraisal needs a free account, mostly so timestamps and edit history stay attached to a real handle.

What makes an appraisal request useful?

Post the name, the extension, your ask and any comps you already found. Members reply with recent sales and screenshots rather than opinions. A request with no ask and no context usually gets a short thread.

Where do .co.za handovers get discussed?

In the escrow and transfer board. Threads cover EPP codes, registrar confirmation windows and the gap between payment release and the name actually moving. Buyers outside South Africa ask about that gap a lot.

Can I list a name at a fixed price?

Yes, the marketplace section takes fixed-price listings and wanted ads. Keep the listing to the name, extension, price and terms. Negotiation threads belong in the aftermarket board, not in the listing itself.

I am new to this. Where do I start?

The beginner corner. First-time buyers post a name and ask whether it is worth renewing. Expect blunt answers, and expect members to ask what you paid and how long you plan to hold it.

Something went wrong with a transfer. Who do I ask?

Post it in the registrar transfers and dispute thread with dates, registrar names and what the support reply said. If it needs a moderator, reach the team through support or contact.

Threads worth reading next

Long-form write-ups pulled from the boards. Same tone as the forum: numbers, timelines and the parts that went sideways.

What the boards actually give you

Domain Brokerage Group is built around threads that stay useful months later. Here is what members get out of posting here instead of guessing alone.

Appraisals with real comps

Post a name with your ask and the room replies with comparable sales, recent listings and the reasons a number is too high or too low. No vague encouragement.

Escrow and transfer steps

Walkthroughs for .co.za and .com handovers: EPP codes, registrar confirmation windows, and the gap between payment release and the name moving.

Drop-catching notes

Backorder results grouped by name length, keyword type and registrar, so you can see what gets caught, what slips through, and why.

Outbound that reads the reply

A long-running thread on buyer intent: which first replies are polite brush-offs, which are price tests, and when to hold your number.

Portfolio housekeeping

Renewals, parking versus redirects, and the registrar admin nobody enjoys. Members share what they cut each year and what they keep holding.

Marketplace and wanted ads

Fixed-price listings sit next to wanted ads, so buyers and sellers meet in the same place instead of trading blind across inboxes.
